Hoodlums break into the Anambra vigilante headquarters and burn a man.
On Thursday, a group of unidentified thugs broke into the Anambra State Vigilante headquarters in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area.
A middle-aged guy who was in an AVG operative’s vehicle was said to have been set ablaze together with the vehicle by the thugs who broke into the premises at around 7 a.m. on Thursday.
As at the time of publication, the specifics of the development were still hazy, and the attack’s motivation was unknown.
A video that is now doing the rounds on social media and shows the location of the burning car along with a voice requesting the state fire department further supported this.
The state police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, acknowledged the attack when reached on the phone, but he was unable to provide him with all the information at this time.
“Yes, there was an attack, but the specifics are yet unknown. Our personnel are on the scene trying to restore order to the neighborhood. Please give me a call back, Ikenga said.
