Otti asks for more Navy men for Abia
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has beseeched Naval officials for assistance in the form of more manpower to strengthen security in the state.

He said that maintaining security is a top priority for his government and that it would be worked toward.
Otti made this request on Thursday while hosting a team led by Rear Admiral Ignatius Albara, the Flag Officer Commanding of the Naval Training Command in Lagos, who was visiting the state to familiarize himself with the Nigeria Navy College of Accounting and Finance in Owerrinta.
According to Otti, the government’s first priority is security since without it, all of its other endeavors will be in vain.
He says that all of the state’s security agencies have been working nonstop over the past ten months to guarantee that the state is adequately secured.
The governor said that Operation Crush, an interagency team his administration established with the goal of guaranteeing maximum security in the state, had proven effective.
“We take security seriously here,” he declared. In fact, security is the most important item on our agenda because, without it, all of our other endeavors will be in vain.
“We have been collaborating closely with the institution, and Eyitayo (O.E. Eyitayo, Commandant, Nigeria Navy institution of Accounting and Finance) is a member of our government; he is involved in almost all of our security-related initiatives.
“Over the past ten months, law enforcement, the Army, the DSS, civil defense, and the NDLEA have collaborated to make this place free from criminal activity.”
“We established an interagency operation known as “Operation Crush,” and men from various security agencies are committed to providing the highest level of security around-the-clock.”
Otti noted that the state government is collaborating closely with the institution and utilized the occasion to thank the college’s commandant for his dedication, while also pleading with the Flag Officer for assistance in the form of additional staff to strengthen security.
Following his assumption of responsibilities a few weeks ago, the Flag Officer Commanding of the Naval Training Command, Albara, had earlier stated that he was in the state on a familiarization trip to the Nigerian Navy College of Accounting and Finance, Owerrinta.
It is traditional for someone to become acquainted with the goings-on at professional schools, as well as to assess and recognize the difficulties they face, when assuming office. We are here today to tour the College of Finance, and it is in keeping with that. Since the college is located here in Abia under your direction, we felt it was important,” he clarified.
He also complimented the governor on his enormous achievements for the state and the kind assistance he provided to the college to ease its workload.
In a separate speech, O.E. Eyitayo, the Commandant of the Nigeria Navy College of Accounting and Finance, thanked Otti for his assistance to the college and the state’s joint security team, which has simplified their work.
