Chinedu Ezeudu was arrested for reportedly selling nude pictures of a woman on social media. He is from the Ndi Ikpa village Ezinato community in the Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
After failing to extort money from her, he allegedly leaked the information.
The man allegedly made N3,000 off of selling the young woman’s naked videos to anyone who asked for them.
The victim went to the office of Mrs. Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Children’s Welfare, and a report was filed, leading to the suspect’s arrest by the Anambra State police command.
Miss Chidinma Ikeanyionwu, the commissioner’s media aide, stated, “The victim revealed she lost her memory card in March, 2023, but was later chatted up by the suspect in June, with a request for big sum of money in order not to expose the nude videos.
The suspect threatened to upload the footage to all social media sites if she didn’t pay, but her husband approached her and demanded that she take it down. He had previously made a copy before that time.
According to her, the suspect not only uploaded the video on Facebook, Whatsapp, and other social media platforms, but also sold copies to anyone who asked for one.
Ikeanyionwu said: “When the incident was reported to the office of the commissioner for women and social welfare Anambra State by the victim accompanied by Hon Ejike Okechukwu, the suspect was quickly arrested by the Anambra State Police Command.”
She stated that after the investigation was complete, the suspect in police custody would be arraigned before the Children, Sexual, and Gender Based Violence Court in Awka.
