PDP Representative Openly Supports Governor Otti’s Initiatives in Abia, Saying “My People Come Before Party”
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member for the Isuikwuato state constituency, Hon. Lucky Udoka, has declared his support for the policies of the Abia State administration, which is led by Governor Alex Otti and the Labour Party.
Udoka stated that even though he belongs to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he supports Governor Otti because partisanship doesn’t come before the welfare of his citizens.
During the Tuesday flag-off of the 11.5-kilometer Nunya-Eluama Road project in Isuikwuato Local Government Area—a project that Udoka helped to attract—his alliance with Otti was highlighted.
Udoka showed a strong dedication to the “good governance” of the Otti administration during the flag-off.
However, this position gave rise to rumors that the lawmaker would think about joining the Labour Party, which is currently in power.
In a conversation with THE WHISTLER, however, Udoka addressed the rumors and reiterated his allegiance to the PDP, highlighting his support for democratic dividends and good administration.
He told THE WHISTLER, “I still support the PDP, but I firmly believe in Dr. Alex Otti’s visionary leadership when it comes to governance.”
He went on, “The administration of Dr. Alex Otti is a true gift to Abians. As for whether I would be moving to the Labour Party anytime soon, the answer is that I remain a PDP supporter. However, in terms of governance, I believe in good governance and the benefits of democracy, so I will continue to be in alignment with and support Dr. Alex Otti’s leadership.”
Udoka conveyed his appreciation for securing the much-needed Nunya-Eluama Road project, which is expected to ease the challenges the residents of Isuikwuato are facing as a result of the road’s terrible state.
He admitted that the PDP voters who put him in office also largely backed Governor Otti’s campaign since they both wanted good change in the previous elections.
“We are fully in support of the governor’s administration, and today I have been able to draw this fantastic project for the people of Isuikwuato. The people of Isiukwuato who voted for me under the PDP umbrella also voted for His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti,” the lawmaker said.
He applauded Otti for turning Abia into a state that attracts investment and praised the governor for resolving problems that had previously beset the state, such as increasing security, repairing road infrastructure, and restoring power supply stability.
Udoka went on, “The time for politics has passed, and now is the moment to work with his excellency to restore Abia’s greatness.”
