The Abia State Government has expressed commitment to ensure quality education at all levels in the state in order to produce competent graduates that would compete globally.
Governor Alex Otti stated this at the 4th convocation ceremony of Cliford University, Ihie, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia State recently. He assured that his administration would invest humongous resources towards the preparation and transformation of the youths for the rigors of global challenge.
Represented by his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, Otti congratulated the students for their academic excellence while advising them to be good ambassadors of their institution as they journey through the huddles of life and continue to beam with excellence in their various professions.
Otti, in a press statement by Authority Michael Ukpabi, Special Assistant on Media to the Deputy Governor, commended the efforts of the Governing Council and the school management for their commitment and dedication towards building the university for academic excellence. He advised them to emulate the standards of Harvard University as a private institution.
In exhibition of support for the school, the governor promised to build an ultra-modern E-Library with digital resources for the school, which will provide them access to up-to-date information and latest researches on various topics and fields of interest. This project will be sponsored by Dr. Alex Otti Foundation.
The vice chancellor, Professor Chimezie A. Omeonu, on behalf of the Governing Council, thanked the governor and his deputy for such kind gesture, while pledging to work with the present administration towards transforming the education sector.
