It was a rain of HONOURS at the Igbo Day Celebrations over the weekend as Illustrious Sons and Daughters of Igboland were posthumously conferred with noble honours by the apex Organisation.
I was privileged to receive triple honours on behalf of …
- Chief(Dr) C.C. Onoh, former governor of the Old Anambra State, My Cherished Father,
- Sir Louis Philip Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Knight Commander of the British Empire and Nigeria’s first Billionaire, My Enterprising Father-in -Law;
- Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Head of State and General of the Peoples Army of the Republic of Biafra, My beloved Husband.
It was a grand celebration and reunion of the families of some of the most iconic personalities who, in their lifetimes made tremendous impact in the history and development of the Igbo race in various fields of endeavor. I got enough exercise for one day jogging up those stairs to receive these honors on behalf of these great men. It was exhilarating! May their Valiant Souls continue to rest in glory.
Many dignitaries graced the event as did governors of the 7 Igbo speaking states/representatives. I got enough exercise for one day jogging up those stairs to receive these honors on behalf of these great men.
Congratulations to these icons. They were men of true grit and valor. Their Shadows shall never grow dim.
