The governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has received praise from Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading sociocultural organization in Igbo nation, for his noticeable, observable, and significant work over the previous eight months since taking office.

Governor Otti received the support of Ohanaeze through Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the organization’s president general, who on Tuesday took the executives on a business visit to the governor at his residence in Nvosi, in the Isialangwa South Local Government Area.

OHANAEZE NDIGBO TELLS GOV OTTI, “WE ARE PROUD OF YOU,

“We want to know how the folks we elect to office are doing. I came here today and gave a thorough report on all I have done in my capacity as Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s president general.

“I have verified all of the facts as well. I sent out folks into the field, and I have field officers that follow up with me. They have provided me with an outstanding report regarding the accomplishments of His Excellency Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State. They provided me with an exceptional report; in fact, according to our classifications, he receives a “A.”

“I came here today, spoke with him, and got his confirmation that all the information I had been given regarding his accomplishments and efforts since his inauguration on May 29, 2023, was accurate. Following his meeting with the Governor, Chief Iwuanyanwu told reporters, “All I can say here, on behalf of the Igbos all over the world, I’m telling him congratulations.”

The well-known Igbo elder praised Governor Otti as a “good son” of Igbo Land, saying, “We are proud of him,” and urged him to continue doing well in his role as Abia State’s governor.

Chief Iwuanyanwu took the time during his earlier meeting with Governor Otti to inform the Governor about the efforts Ohanaeze, under his direction, had been doing to unite and promote Igbo land in a variety of ways, including the political, cultural, educational, and economic spheres.

Governor Otti was notified by Chief Iwuanyanwu that while the group had backed Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, in the previous general election because it believed that zoning favored the Igbos to produce the next president, Ohanaeze had already written President Bola Tinubu to assure him of the Igbos’ support for this government’s efforts to unite and develop Nigeria.

Governor Otti praised the Ohanaeze leadership for their efforts in protecting Ndigbo interests in Nigeria and thanked them for making the time to meet with him.

He informed the Igbo leaders that he had moved on and was entirely focused on giving the people of Abia State excellent governance ever since, particularly after the elections and the ensuing legal disputes in which he defeated his rivals. As a result, he suggested that everyone support national and state governments in their efforts to improve Nigeria.

The Governor praised Chief Iwuanyanwu for his enthusiasm and intelligence in leading the group, and commended him personally for agreeing to serve Ndigbo at the level of Ohanaeze.

As he had done in the past as a private man, he pledged that the Abia State Government would assist the pan-Igbo group and its leadership in carrying out their responsibilities.

Other Executive members of the Ohanaeze, who joined Chief Iwuanyanwu on the visit to Governor Otti, were Dr. Kingsley Dozie Lawrence, Vice President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Chief Okeke Afam Ogene, Vice President General (Anambra) Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Amb. Okey Emuchey, MFR, Secretary General Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Dr. Alex Chiedozie Ogbonna, National Publicity Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; and Okey Paul Nwankwo, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Abia State.
