Former Abia State governor Onu passed away in an unidentified Nigerian hospital following a brief illness.

Remember that in the general election of 2023, the late 72-year-old former minister ran as an All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, but President Bola Tinubu defeated him?

Up to his passing in April 2024, Onu was a politician, writer, and engineer from Nigeria.

In addition to serving as Nigeria’s minister of science, technology, and innovation from November 2015 until his departure in 2022, he was the state’s first civilian governor of Abia.
