Governor Otti’s assistance in restoring the Bende Council Headquarters is commended by Mayor Nwankwo.
The rehabilitation and complete reconstruction of the council headquarters have been initiated by Barrister Chijioke Nwankwo, the Mayor of Bende Local Government Area in the state of Abia.
The objective of the restorations was to improve the atmosphere of the council quarters in terms of general reconstruction, aesthetics, and functioning.
The council multifunction hall, health block, seclog/legislative block, administrative block, council library complex, works department, mayor and deputy mayor’s lodges, and other areas of the council quarters will also be renovated.
Other council buildings will undergo renovations, rewiring, retrofits, and painting to guarantee structural safety and an atmosphere that encourages council employees to carry out their responsibilities with diligence.
As he showed reporters around the council buildings, Mayor Nwankwo stated that when the council is completely rebuilt, it would be able to boast about better security measures and the fixing of necessities like reticulated borehole waters.
Mayor Nwankwo restates that the reason he was able to start renovating the council headquarters is that Governor Otti gave his approval and encouraged him to start rebuilding the council, which was in disrepair and in ruins when they moved in.
According to him, the head of the council has graded rural roads in the local government’s Okporoenyi, Uzuakoli, Nkpa, Item, Ezeukwu, and Umuhu communities in order to facilitate commercial transactions, simple access, and the evacuation of agricultural products to nearby villages.
Nwankwo expressed his gratitude to Governor Otti for allowing him to participate in Abia State’s reconstruction.
