HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 has told the Igbos not to build Ohanaeze House or event Centre near his palace in GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area.
The highly esteemed traditional ruler stated this during the visit of the leadership of Ohaneaze Ndigbo Delta Central and South to his posh palace GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Thursday, 4th May 2023.

He explained that his reason was due to security reasons, noting that the building of an Ohanaeze House or Event Centre in the area could be used for traditional matters or events.
He further noted that no palace area in the whole of Nigeria has harboured such a cultural or event centre of another ethnic group.
The Uvwie monarch also stated that it was erroneous for any individual to state that he was opposed to the building of an Ohanaeze House or Event Centre near his palace in GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area because he hated the Igbos.
He disclosed that his first child is married to an Igbo woman from Abia State and that Igbos have a representative in his palace security committee.

The Uvwie monarch again disclosed that Igbos were beneficiaries of his scholarship scheme.
He, however, advised Igbos to develop Ennewi House if they were desirous to have an Ohanaeze House or Event Centre in Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area.
The Ovie of the Uvwie Kingdom seized the opportunity to warn that traditional rulers can live in the Uvwie Kingdom but are not allowed to perform any traditional rite in the area.
He had urged non-indigenes to assist in the development of the area.
Ohanaeze Visit
The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Delta Central and South Senatorial District, Chief Clement Chiedu Idama had among other things disclosed that their visit was to seek permission for the building of an Ohanaeze House or Event Centre in GRA Effurun near the palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.

After the explanation and advice of Abe 1, he promised to abide by the advice of the Uvwie monarch, as he on behalf of the Igbos pledged his unalloyed support and loyalty to the traditional ruler.
