The highly anticipated verdict of the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja is set to be announced on Wednesday, September 6th. This crucial judgement will determine the fate of President Bola Tinubu, as it addresses the petitions challenging his election.
The concerned individuals have put forth claims of extensive irregularities and malfeasance during the election, asserting that these factors have had a significant impact on the final result of the vote.
In a significant development, it was reported in May that the esteemed Presidential Election Petition Tribunal took the decision to consolidate the petitions put forth by the diverse political parties. This crucial step was taken during the issuance of the pre-hearing report on the petition, accompanied by the presentation of the trial schedule.
Furthermore, the court tactfully refrained from issuing a verdict on the petitions put forth by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party. This strategic move was made with the intention of consolidating the delivery of judgements, aligning it with the timing of Peter Obi’s case from the Labour Party.
In a recent statement, it has been categorically denied that any fixed date, specifically September 16, has been set for the impending judgement.
