
State Election Commission inaugurated by Enugu Govt.
In accordance with Section 4(1) of the ENSIEC Law, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has sworn in the newly appointed Chairman and members of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission.

However, Mbah charged them for impartial, trustworthy, and free surveys.
Professor Christian Ngwu is the chairman of the new ENSIEC leadership, which was previously approved by the Enugu State House of Assembly. The other members of the leadership are Solomon Udeh, Chinenyenwa Ogbu, George Ani, Arthur Ede, Paully Eze, and Emeka Ukwuaba. Barr. Ifesinachi Umeobika serves as the secretary of the commission.
During the inauguration on Thursday at Government House Enugu, Mbah stated that the new board of the electoral authority have exceptional qualifications both in terms of ability and character.
“We have multiple levels of government because of our presidential system of governance,” he declared. “Now that you have been appointed and subsequently ratified, you are in charge of overseeing the conduct of elections into the local government councils, which is the third and most important tier of government.”
As a result, it is your duty to guarantee that the laws and processes pertaining to the election of local government council members are carried out in a way that is impartial, credible, and devoid of bias.
“The people of Enugu State would be looking up to you as impartial umpires to make sure that the rules are implemented strictly and without favoritism or fear. We shall therefore be depending on you to perform admirably in your new positions. Since some of you were reappointed, you are already in the system, and we expect you to contribute your experience.
In the meantime, the governor of Enugu state was thanked profusely by Prof. Christian Ngwu, the Chairman of the newly elected ENSIEC, for considering them deserving of serving the people of the state.
He promised to give ENSIEC new life and to give all political parties an even playing field.
