Otti lunches manhunt against LP Cheiftain’s killer

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has spoken out against the murder of Mr. Zakari Maduka, a prominent member of the Labour Party (LP), and has called on law enforcement to track down his assailants.

His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, released the statement to the press on Friday, in which the president made his remarks.

Unknown intruders killed Maduka on Tuesday night in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

According to Otti, Zakari’s beheading was insanity-inducingly cruel and vicious.

Therefore, he demanded that security personnel move swiftly to apprehend all individuals responsible, whether they were directly or indirectly involved.

The governor mourned Zakari’s death and praised his work as Labour Party Campaign Manager in Uturu during the most recent general election.

He also claimed that Zakari was a prominent figure in the community’s efforts to curb kidnapping and other criminal activity.

The Labour Party government had provided solid governance for the people of Abia, and Otti felt sorry that Zakari didn’t live to enjoy its benefits.

The governor assured the relatives of the deceased that the government would provide any assistance necessary.

He reaffirmed his resolve to guarantee the safety of people and property in Abia and the rest of the South East.

He explained that the state’s recent formation of a joint security Taskforce nicknamed “Operation Crush” was in response to this pressing need for safety.

According to him, kidnappings in the Lokpanta region, in particular, have decreased since the campaign was implemented.

The governor promised that Abia’s law enforcement would stand firm against any attempt by criminals to establish a safe haven anywhere in the state.
