
Three individuals residing in the Agbada Nenwe community, located in the Aninri local government area of Enugu State, have tragically lost their lives as a result of an invasion by unidentified gunmen wearing masks.
The victims identified by our correspondent include Mr. Hillary Uche, a well-known block and cement dealer at Orie Agu, Emulemoke Agbada Road; Kingsley, a dealer of machine parts in the signboard area of the village; and a young man commonly referred to as FM.
It has been discovered that the incident occurred on Saturday morning. During this event, the assailants targeted individuals in their residences and businesses, promptly ending their lives.
According to reports, Kingsley and FM were reportedly forcibly removed from their residences in Amagu Agbada Nenwe and taken to the village square, where they met their unfortunate demise.
Similarly, Hilary was tragically killed within the confines of his own shop located at Orie Agu.It has been ascertained that the individuals of criminal intent proceeded to ignite a residential property subsequent to conducting a thorough search, albeit without locating their intended subject.
The recent incidents of violence have caused significant distress and grief within the community. Consequently, young men engaged in local business activities have begun to relocate from the area.According to a local resident, an unfortunate incident occurred in our village where unidentified individuals entered and forcibly took Kingsley and FM.
They subsequently brought them to the village square and tragically ended their lives.The identities of the individuals remain unknown. Several individuals arrived on motorcycles, while others reported that a portion of them arrived in a motor vehicle.
Many individuals are hesitant to venture outside due to fear. There is a widespread sense of alarm and distress in various locations. This type of occurrence has not previously taken place in this location.One individual, Mr. Hillary, was fatally shot on three occasions within his establishment located at Orie Agu Nenwe.
According to the source, all of the unidentified individuals were observed wearing masks, which indicates the possibility that they may have originated from the vicinity surrounding our location.
“The spokesman of the state police command, Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the incident and said the police had since launched manhunt to address the assailants.”
He said: “Discreet investigation and manhunt operation are underway to fish out the yet-to-be identified armed hoodlums said to have shot and killed three (3) male victims, in the wee hours of 09/09/2023, at Agbada Village square, in Nenwe community of Aninri Local Government Area.
