The Concerned Enugu State Youths (CESY) have issued a vehement denunciation of the extended investigative proceedings at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu.
According to the youth group, the investigation conducted by an 8-Man Investigative Panel commissioned by the Enugu State Government has come under scrutiny for its lengthy duration and perceived bias approach, while drawing attention to the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT)’s swift exoneration in relation to the tragic deaths of students on its campus.CESY’s inquiry into the state government’s objectives has raised a poignant question:
Does the Enugu State Government now prioritise the pursuit of perfection at IMT over researching and protecting the lives of ESUT students? The huge difference in the timing of the two investigations raises this concern.

While the government was able to investigate and quickly clear ESUT of any responsibility in the terrible student fatalities in a two-hour meeting, the investigation of IMT’s activities and practises has already entered its second week without a decision.
CESY emphasises in a news statement issued in Enugu on Thursday morning that their concern, as indicated in this press release, is not solely centred on the suspected bias in the lengthy IMT probe.
Instead, their greatest concern is that the state administration keep at least one of its campaign promises.
This comes after the present administration has been in office for approximately 100 days.
The youth group contends that the government should focus its efforts on meeting its public obligations rather than conducting targeted probes and investigations that may deflect attention away from its fundamental responsibilities.
