Group requests governor to build flyover after IMSU junction crash
In order to prevent more fatal accidents at the Imo State University intersection, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, has been summoned by Mr. Oluchukwu Nnabugwu, the convener/chairman of the Imo Christians Youth Peace Initiative, to begin work on a flyover as soon as possible.

Additionally, he made a plea to the state government, religious authorities, organizations, and well-meaning people to step in and assist in covering the hospital costs of the victims of the most recent accident that happened at the intersection.
When speaking with the accident victims (survivors) at the hospital, Nnabugwu said that a delegation had visited the scene of the tragedy on Saturday night.
He expressed his gratitude to the administration and personnel of the Federal University Teaching Hospital (the erstwhile FMC), Owerri, particularly the accident and emergency section, for their prompt action and considerate handling of the injured parties.
The speaker expressed his appreciation for the medical staff’s expertise and dedication in handling a distressing circumstance, saying that it brought comfort to the injured and their families.
The youth leader expressed further worries about the cost of the hospital bills as the injured victims had more care.
“We are calling for the government’s immediate intervention and assistance from philanthropic individuals and organizations, as the majority of the victims need urgent surgical attention,” he stated, acknowledging the hardship this creates on the affected families.
