Enugu Tourism Board Ready to Develop Sector With Investors

The Enugu State Tourism Board has announced plans to reach out to all relevant stakeholders in order to explore potential partnerships with the administration of His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah. The objective is to collaborate on the development of numerous tourist sites and resources within the state.

In a press conference held on Tuesday, Dame Rita Mbah, the recently appointed Executive Chairman of the Board, emphasized the magnitude of the task at hand. She acknowledged that the workload is substantial and cannot be undertaken single-handedly.

Mbah added that Mbah’s administration is an “investment-driven government.”

“We believe that tourism is big business. So, here at the Tourism Board, we are calling on both local and international investors to partner with the State to develop our tourist sites and tourism industry in general.

“We are certain that we cannot go it alone. As we move ahead to begin this important work, we will be reaching out to sector leaders in the creative, cultural and hospitality industries. We will reach out to community leaders, traditional rulers, the Federal Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), NTDC, the hotels as well as the retail and finance industries for robust collaboration.

“My intention is to drive collaboration with all agencies at the heart of our over reaching strategy.

“So, we are poised to work with stakeholders across the value chain to achieve our goal while being resolute in our resolve to brand and sell DESTINATION ENUGU to the world. In this regard, therefore, we want to digitize our cultural heritage and tourist sites to become more discoverable and insure access for local and international tourism:
