Enugu Assembly Approves Governor Mbah’s N58.09bn Supplementary Budget

The supplemental appropriations bill proposed by Governor Peter Mbah was approved by the House of Assembly of Enugu State.

Legislators read the supplementary appropriations bill for the first, second, and third times. The total amount of the supplementary appropriations bill is 58 billion, 95 million, 482 thousand 293 naira only ($58,095,482,293).

Numerous amendments were proposed to the bill, which was titled “The bill for a law to authorise the issuance and appropriation of the total sum of 58,095,482,293 for capital and recurrent expenditure for the year ending 31st December, 2023.” This bill was the subject of heated debate as legislators took the opportunity to advocate for their constituents.

The bill was passed by the legislature after it was argued that it would allow Governor Peter Mbah to carry out a number of capital projects in the state.
