Nationwide blackout as national grid collapses again

Another failure of the national grid has caused a nationwide outage.

Tuesday at 11:31 a.m., according to Ndiigboworldwide reports, the national grid failed.

Emeka Ezeh, the head of corporate communications for the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, confirmed that the company lost power around 11:31 a.m. on Tuesday.

“In fact, since 11:31 a.m., we have been without supplies. In our network, there has been no supply. This is our circumstance, but there is no confirmation that it is the result of a system failure,” he said.

On Tuesday afternoon, the president of the Nigeria Consumer Protection Network, Kunle Kola Olubiyo, suggested that the country experienced another grid failure.

Another grid failure. Reduced frequency to 47, no Spinning reserve in response to load rejection? What is happening???” He stated in a WhatsApp group message.

Earlier on Tuesday, a power disruption was reported in sections of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Abuja Distribution Company, however, attributed the occurrence to a malfunction in its feeder.
