Constituency, aims to outlaw cultism in all its manifestations in Anambra State.
In the Anambra State House of Assembly’s plenary session, the measure passed second reading.

The majority leader’s bill, which Sir Ikenna Ofodeme is sponsoring on behalf of the Ekwusigo
Sir Ikenna, who chaired the discussion, declared that everyone must battle cultism, citing in particular the church, parents, and institutions. He revealed that the threat has extended beyond school activities to include streets and communities.
He said the bill is vital because cultism has led to drug addiction, which has made it possible for cultists to carry out the majority of their killings.
He revealed that anyone who commits the crime—whether by conspiring, funding, or endorsing cult activities—will be held accountable if the bill is signed into law.
According to Ikenna, the State House of Assembly is dedicated to advancing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s goal of making Anambra state a successful and livable place to live.
“Secret cultism has been a bane in the society today,” he claims. One might always assume that this cultism is limited to higher education, but it is simply astonishing to learn that our society as a whole is at risk from such a threat.
“The government needs to take immediate action to stop cult activities, enforce laws as punishment, and save lives because the number of killings linked to cultism in various communities these days is so high and numerous.”
