In Imo, police apprehend a “wanted” IPOB/ESN terrorist.
A suspected terrorist who has been on the Imo Police Command’s wanted list for a while was taken into custody, the command announced on Tuesday.

The suspect, 38-year-old Chidebere Nwuzor, is a well-known member of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), an armed organization that represents the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). This was said by the command’s spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye.
Nwuzor, a native of Amauzu in the state’s Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, was taken into custody by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit Operatives of the command after “a diligently gathered actionable intelligence.”
Due to a string of alleged terrorist acts he committed in the state with his criminal accomplices, the suspected terrorist has been placed on the command’s wanted list.
“After a fierce gunfight with the ever-gallant operatives, which forced him to surrender after sustaining gunshot injuries on his right leg, he was arrested on April 8, 2024, in his criminal hideout in Umuogu,” Okoye stated.
According to a police spokesman, the suspect was found to have one pump action gun with six live bullets, one barrera pistol loaded with two live rounds, and other potentially incriminating things.
He claimed that during questioning, the suspect admitted to being a part of the lethal IPOB/ESN conspiracy, which was in charge of imposing the state’s illegal sit-at-home order and wreaking havoc on gullible civilians.
The statement said that Ebube Virus and Ishaka, who had been eliminated by the agents in December 2023, were responsible for the suspect’s re-entry into the lethal terrorist organization.
“The suspect acknowledged that he was the driver of the operation vehicle that was utilized in the November 2023 attack that resulted in the deaths of an inspector of police and the DPO of Ahaizu Mbaise.
He said, “The suspect is currently aiding the committed investigators in their work and he has supplied helpful information that will result in the arrest of other suspects who are currently at large.”
Okoye promised that following a thorough investigation, the suspect would face legal action.
“This operational achievement, along with numerous others, demonstrates the command’s unwavering commitment to ending all violent crimes in the state.
