Dog finds a day-old baby left in the jungle and rescues it in Anambra
A day-old newborn boy who was believed to have been abandoned by his mother in a forest in Abagana, the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, is said to have been saved by a straying dog.

According to a source who spoke with our correspondent, the baby was taken across a major road by a stray dog that was searching the forest for food. It was then left out in the open for someone to pick it up for rehabilitation.
The infant was left in a plastic bag in the wilderness, and the dog discovered it there. Based on our observations, the infant could have been left in the jungle for around two days before the dog found him.
“Our reporter was informed by the source that the infant is doing well and is stable.
An internet video that was trending supported our source.
Some ladies who appeared to be local midwives were seen in the video cleaning the infant while denouncing the people who committed the horrible act.
Together with a male speaker, the women in the film questioned how someone could bear a kid for nine months and then discard them.
They praised God for sparing the baby from being eaten by animals and pleaded with those who did the act to give kids in similar situations to others to care for rather than discarding them.
Nevertheless, at the time of this report, the Police Public Relations Officer’s (PPRO) phone line was down, therefore all attempts to reach the Anambra State Police Command’s response were unsuccessful.
