
A court in Enugu reprimands a 28-year-old for having a fake pistol.
Ikenna Chiege, 28, has been placed under remand at the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Enugu due to allegations that he was in possession of a fake pistol.

Chiege, who was taken into custody at New Jerusalem, Bunker Camp 2, Coal Camp, Enugu, was placed under surveillance by the state police command due to suspected criminal activity, according to DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state police public relations officer.
On March 13, 2024, at around 2:20 p.m., police officers working with members of the Neighbourhood Watch Group at the command’s Central Police Station (CPS) detained the suspect, Ndukwe continued.
According to his investigations, the suspect and his at-large accomplices have been placed under police observation due to their involvement in multiple armed robberies, burglaries, and thefts that have occurred in Coal Camp and other sections of Enugu city.
According to our correspondent, on March 15, 2024, the Enugu North Magistrates’ Court in Enugu State committed the suspect to the penitentiary center.
