
The Nigerian Army will host a seminar for journalists in the Southeast on the use of social media.

The Department of Civil-Military Affairs of the Nigerian Army is hosting a one-day course for media workers in the southeast. The goal of the conference, “Enhancing National Security through the Responsible Use of Social Media,” is to counter the dissemination of false information and encourage safe online behavior.
The seminar is slated to take place on Tuesday, April 23rd, at the GIA Event Center in Aba, Abia State. It is intended for bloggers, journalists, and other media stakeholders from the southeast region. The Nigerian Army’s social media engagement program, which is in its 33rd edition, aims to promote cooperation with important media players in order to address issues related to national security.
Captain J.G. Pam, the coordinator for Abia State’s Department of Civil-Military Affairs, provided an explanation of the program in a statement issued on Monday. He said, “The Nigerian Army has started a number of sensitization initiatives as part of her reform effort and the need to interact/interface more with the Nigerian populace.
“The 33rd edition (the first of its kind in Abia State) is set for April 23, 2024, in Aba, Abia State. All certified attendees will get a Certificate of Participation at the conclusion of the event, he stated.
