Ifeanyi Ubah is of the opinion that Anambra’s economy has the capacity to surpass all others in Nigeria
Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, a senator from the Anambra South senatorial zone, expressed sadness that Anambra State, which he said had the greatest potential to have the strongest economy in Nigeria, had been overshadowed by poor governance.

Ubah, who is running for governor of the state in 2025, emphasized the necessity for economic production growth in order to raise average incomes and expenditures and create moderate inflation.
The congressman stated, “This is one of the main areas I’ll pay attention to, if given the mandate to govern the State,” in a Saturday interview with media. It has been included in my State’s economic blueprints.
The concerning economic situation in Anambra State demonstrates that our huge fortress and walls of riches have been breached, and our administration is in a position to investigate the root causes comprehensively and come up with a long-term solution.
“State development ought to be based on comparative advantage. The capacity of an economy to concentrate on producing products and services at a lower opportunity cost than rivals is known as comparative advantage.
One may do more and maintain strength when they have a comparative edge. Anambra has a strong reputation in a variety of fields, including business, technology, education, and sports.
“Any Anambra State economic policy that does not follow this trajectory is utopian and misguided in its goals.”
Senator Ubah mentioned the following: a strong focus on trade facilitation with incentives to the private public partnership to guarantee ease of doing business; budgetary prudence to create 100,000 jobs annually; and the digital economy.
The other two are economic diversification and industrialization, which would help Anambra State become the Nigerian state with the fastest-growing economy.
He said that by focusing on these areas, he would be able to reposition Anambra State and provide the people, who he claimed had suffered much from economic setbacks, a higher quality of life.
Basically, the reason we need to adhere to these strategic action plans is to link Anambra State to the current global state of affairs and prepare the State to grow into a sophisticated economy.
“With the amount of potential the State has, both at home and in the diaspora, this is doable,” he promised.
Ubah went on to say that in order to achieve a diverse and competitive economy via the execution of inclusive and integrated industrial development strategies, the State’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) required to be doubled.
According to him, Anambra need an industrial development strategy that could offer a solid road map for industrialization focused on balanced growth.
He stated that the three economic pillars of the industrialization policy focus should be the expansion of the manufacturing sector, the development of agro-allied industries, and the investment in oil and gas.
