Anumudu had bought the party’s form to contest the primary ahead of the State governorship election in November but died last week.

Abure said, “Recall that one of our aspirants in Imo State lost his life. I’m pleased to announce to the public and members of the LP family and his immediate family. The party will refund the nomination fee of N25 million that he spent.

“We need to do this to support the family and show leadership of compassion. Also of empathy that the Labour Party stands for.”
