“On February 26, 2024, the Divisional Police Headquarters in Isuochi received information that on February 25, 2024, Theophilus Udeh, a 70-year-old male from Eziama Lokpaukwu Umunneochi, shot and killed his son, Sunday Udeh, a 27-year-old male from the same address,” stated ASP Maureen Chinaka, the state police public relations officer, in a statement she released on Wednesday, confirming the incident.

Detectives from the Isuochi Divisional Headquarters visited the crime scene after learning of the information, retrieved the body, and placed it in the mortuary so that an autopsy could be performed. After recovering exhibits, the suspect was taken into custody.

“The State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the case for a covert investigation.”

According to information obtained by our correspondent, Udeh skipped breakfast and returned home hungry, only to find that the dead had returned earlier and consumed the rest of the food in a pot in the kitchen, which he did not realize was his father’s supper.

But, our source has learned that this infuriated the suspect, who hurried into his room, pulled a revolver, and shot his kid, instantly killing him.

The source went on to say that Udeh was quickly captured by villagers, who bound his two hands and laid him next to his son’s lifeless body in the town square.

Theophilus, who was seen on camera in a widely shared video that our journalist obtained, expressed regret for his actions, begged for forgiveness, and blamed the devil for them.
