The Federal Government has begun inspecting Federal Road initiatives in Nigeria’s Southeastern region.Recall that the federal government last week conducted a comprehensive project inspection throughout the Southwestern states, ordering contractors to expedite the completion of all ongoing road construction projects in accordance with specifications.
According to a press release signed and distributed by Emeka Julius Chijioke, the Media Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator Engr David Umahi will be touring the Southeast, with Enugu State as the first stop.Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Director, Highways, South East, Engr. B. U. Obioha, Barr Chioma Nweze, journalists, and other stakeholders accompanied the Honourable Minister as he arrived in Enugu State. Reconstruction of the Enugu-Port Harcourt motorway, section III: Enugu-Lokpanta, in the state of Enugu.
The Minister also inspected the rehabilitation of Ozalla-Akpugo-Amagunze-Ihuokpara-Nkomoro-Isu-Onicha, Nenwe—Nomeh—Mbururu-Oduma Road in Enugu State, rehabilitation of Ojo-Mmaku-Awgu-Ndeabor Road with Spur in Enugu State; construction of Ugueme-Nenwenta-Mkwe-Ebere-Awgunta-Obeage-Nmaku Road In Enugu State.
Other initiatives examined included:Rehabilitation of Old Enugu -Onitsha Road (Opi Junction-Ukehe Okpatu-Adoh Udi-Oji to Anambra Border) in Enugu State; rehabilitation of outstanding sections of Enugu-Onitsha Motorway in Anambra and Enugu State under the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme (RITCS); and rehabilitation of Umama-Ndiagu-Agba-Umumbu Road sections II in Enugu State.
Therefore, the jubilant audiences that greeted the Minister praised President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed’s Federal Government for undertaking life-saving projects.Senator Umahi responded by assuring the public of greater things to come and reminding them that the Federal Government would not falter in implementing the Renewed Hope for the greater benefit of all.
The Renewed Hope is present and active.Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has approved the construction of the Ezzagu – Ezillo road leading to Marist Comprehensive College Onunweke, Ezzagu; Ishielu LGA, Ebonyi State.With any luck, the Roads will be finished soon.
