Imo natives demand the firing of Uzodimma adviser due to a suspected N1 million scam.
Chief Paschal Nwakamma, the governor of Imo State’s special adviser on land recovery, may not be in the best of situations right now as it seems he is under fire after many petitions alleging various fraudulent activities.

Imo natives demand the firing of Uzodimma adviser due to a suspected N1 million scam.
However, the state Police Command has arrested him due to a plethora of petitions alleging wrongdoings against him, particularly those pertaining to purported fraud.
Among the accusations made against him are that he used unapproved extra police personnel to carry out his duties in excess of the number of policemen the government had officially allotted to him and that he accepted a N1 million bribe from an Imo Hoteliers Association member.
This occurred even as the Umuowa autonomous community in the state’s Orlu Local Government Area was rumored to have finalized plans to file a second petition against the same SA on land recovery. They accused him of forcing vendors in the community plaza to close their businesses while the case was still pending before the Owerri High Court.
In addition to the aforementioned, Barrister Ken Njemanze, SAN, filed a petition alleging fraud in the municipality of Owerri against Nwakamma.
According to information obtained by South-East PUNCH, the state government’s intervention resulted in the alleged SA’s release a few hours after his detention.
On the other hand, it was reported that the state administration was concerned given the spate of petitions filed by Imo people against Nwakamma.
A Government House insider, who requested to remain anonymous, claimed that in light of the numerous, serious, and damaging petitions against Nwakamma, Governor Hope Uzodimma might remove him from office.
Similarly, the Imo Hoteliers Association was said to have petitioned Uzodimma regarding an alleged attack, character assassination, and intimidation of Mr. Magnus Awarzi, one of its members.
According to the appeal, which was signed by their Chief Servant, Mr. Isidore Chukwunyere, Nwakamma harassed Awarzi, the CEO of Magnesium Hotels, for allegedly trespassing.
According to Awarzi, the SA wrongfully and forcibly took N1 million from him under the pretense that the state government would forgive him for his purported trespass after he paid the money.
He added that Nwakamma returned the money and called the police to arrest and jail Awarzi for allegedly trying to give him a gratification (bribe) after the latter insisted on receiving a receipt for the payment.
Chukwunyere called the conditions surrounding Awarzi’s apprehension unlawful.
In addition, he claimed that Awarzi had been intimidated and his character defamed in an effort to damage his integrity and reputation as well as the association’s.
He asked Uzodimma to act swiftly, looking into the event and working with the appropriate law enforcement agencies to make sure that Nwakamma and his potential allies were prosecuted.
“I believe that Awarzi’s arrest was unlawful,” he declared. It’s not warranted. I view it from the perspective of character slander. I want Governor Uzodimma to make sure that Nwakamma and his crew are prosecuted and to thoroughly investigate the situation using his administrative acumen.
