Imo Police Arrests 18 IPOB members behind killing of DPO, Inspector

The Imo State Police Command has announced the arrest of 18 criminals suspected to be members of the proscribed IPOB/ESN over the killing of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ahiazu Mbaise and an Inspector of Police at BOEK Petroleum Filling Station, Ahiara Junction, in Ahaizu, Mbaise LGA of Imo State.

The police revealed that the police officers were refueling their vehicle when the suspects clad in military camouflage bearing black and red colors attacked them.

A statement from the police read: “The police operatives fought gallantly but unfortunately, the DPO and an Inspector of Police paid the supreme price in the gun duel that ensued while two police officers survived the attack.”
