
The University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, Imo State, has commenced aggressive cultivation of several hectares of lands, with fruits, crops and sundry economic trees being planted, harvested and sold to members of the public.
Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Christopher Chiedozie Eze, said that as a special unique university, the ideas was to strengthen government’s efforts to boost agricultural yields and also earnest food crisis in the state.
Eze, a Professor of Agricultural Environmental and member Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) cum Solicitor of the Supreme Court as well as Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economist, disclosed this while interacting with newsmen in his office when he unfolded his achievements.

The former Dean of the Post Graduate Studies of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) also disclosed that his institution had established formidable links with both the EU and the UNIDO the promotion of academic excellence especially on research.\
