Rivers: Otti affirms God is the source of power and praises Fubara.
Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, praised Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, on Tuesday for the accomplishment of the 10.98-kilometer Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo Road project in Rivers State’s Eleme Local Government Area.

At the road’s inauguration, Otti complimented Fubara on his memory to complete a road project in the Eleme neighborhood, where he had formerly resided.
The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation was given the route, also known as Old Bori route, on August 14, 2023, for a sum of N6.7 billion.
Otti emphasized in his speech the value of leadership in service, cautioning leaders to serve the people rather than their own interests.
“I’ve always said that leadership is about service,” he remarked. If leadership deviates from serving others, then something is amiss. Serving the public interest should come before serving oneself or a select few interests. You need to go take another look at yourself if you find yourself serving a small group of individuals instead of the majority.
“Power is God’s, and no human being can take it away from him—the only exception being the ability to give life. You may take life, of sure, but you cannot give it.”
According to the governor of Abia State, “good governance is everything.” Governor Fubara was ready, and I don’t think he will be deterred from his goal of advancing the interests and well-being of the populace by any means.
Therefore, I can tell you, Rivers people, that this is just a dress rehearsal for the democratic dividends you are already experiencing. Even though it’s early in the morning, I have no doubt that you will see more soon.
Fubara bemoaned that the contractors handling the majority of the projects commissioned by the most recent governor, Nyesom Wike, “are still coming for their balance payments running into millions and billions,” even though he acknowledged that debt was a big issue in his government.
“I have stated that I don’t want to talk because I am a part of that system, but if they persist in pressuring me, I will speak up so that the chickens will scream.”
The governor also stated that he planned to present a “white paper” outlining the project’s funding at the project inauguration.
He said, “As we move forward, we will produce a white paper that details the record and sums this project was awarded.”
Fubara expressed happiness that the commemoration of his “One Year in Office” anniversary had begun with the groundbreaking of a road project in Eleme, the neighborhood where he first resided and began working.
He claimed that despite all of the difficulties, the finished project now shows that his administration is still committed to providing development for the populace.
“Despite all the difficulties, I’m glad to be here and to be with the kind people of Rivers State to begin this beautiful celebration of our first anniversary. It demonstrates that we remain attentive and unaffected by the volume of distractions,” he remarked.
According to Fubara, Otti was chosen to attend the road’s inauguration because “he is not an artificial integrity man, but an action integrity man.”
