Imo State University students boo Gov Hope Uzodimma

A campaign rally headed by Governor Hope Uzodimma at Imo State University faced a major upheaval as students voiced their discontent by booing the governor and chanting ‘No Light.’

The viral video of the incident has caused a stir on social media, showcasing the students’ dissatisfaction with the governor’s administration.

Governor Uzodimma, seeking a second term in the upcoming governorship election in the state, encountered vehement opposition from the students, who expressed their grievances over the lack of consistent electricity.

The disruptive protest, a rare display of public dissent during a political campaign, highlighted the deep-seated concerns of the youth regarding governance and basic amenities in the state.

This incident comes amidst a highly competitive election landscape, with Governor Uzodimma facing formidable challengers, including Senator Athan Achonu of the Labour Party and Senator Sam Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party.
